The setup wizard

The first time you open the MemberMode admin page after activating, a setup wizard takes over. It walks you through five steps so you start with a sensible default configuration instead of an empty dashboard.

The five steps

  1. Welcome — quick overview of what MemberMode does. Click Get started.
  2. Use case — pick the closest match to what you’re building:
    Paid community / membership
    Private community (invite-only)
    Coaching or course site
Member directory (searchable list of members)
I’ll choose myself (skip the recommendations)

Your pick determines which modules get pre-ticked on the next step.
3. Recommended add-ons — a checklist of free modules to enable. Defaults vary by use case (e.g. Email Branding + OAuth for “Paid community”). Untick anything you don’t want.
4. Brand — set your logo and primary colour. These are used everywhere: the branded login screen, transactional emails, profile accent colour, button colour.
5. Ready — finish. The wizard hands you off to the admin Dashboard.

Re-running the wizard

The wizard saves its progress so you can leave mid-flow and come back. Once finished, it disappears from the Dashboard.

If you want to re-run it later (e.g. you added new admins who want to onboard the site themselves), the Setup wizard link in the Dashboard’s Finish setting up MemberMode card opens it again. Re-running won’t undo previous choices — it just lets you walk through and tweak.

The post-wizard checklist

After the wizard, the Dashboard shows a Finish setting up MemberMode card with a 5-item progress checklist:

  • Add your logo
  • Pick a primary colour
  • Build your first form
  • Set your 2FA policy
  • Publish your member directory

Each item links straight to the relevant settings or builder. As you complete or skip items, the card progress bar updates. When all five are resolved (done or skipped), the card collapses to a tidy “Setup complete” line.

You can restore a skipped item if you change your mind — the Restore link appears next to the completion message.
